The Asher Tour hosts a series of 30+ high-level, competitive golf tournaments each year and most tour events are open to amateur players. While our focus is primarily based on the professional game, we understand the value these events offer the high-level amateur player. Fields consisting of high school players heading to the collegiate level, D1-D3 college players and scratch amateurs.
Amateur participants compete for Asher Tour Points. These points are awarded to all amateurs making the cut. Points can be redeemed for use toward future events (1 point = $1 in Asher Tour entry fees). Points can start at 300 for 1st place for example, all based on field sizes.
Registration priority is given to professional entries, but Amateurs are accepted into the fields (based on space available) at the 21-day Advance Entry deadline.
Once the amateur field is established, the Asher Tour will cut to 35% of the starting amateur field + ties after 36-holes and placed appropriately in the pairings for the final round(s). If an amateur is leading the field after the cut is made, that player will be paired in the final group of the day.
All amateurs play the same tees and play to a scratch (no handicap). It is highly recommended that competitors have a 2.0 index or below in order to compete in an Asher Tour event.
Any amateur player who is unable to be 'competitive' in Asher Tour events may not be approved for future events.
